Peel away damage. Reveal healthier skin

Chemical peels are one of the most effective treatments available for acne, dark spots, hyperpigmentation, melasma, fine lines, and uneven skin texture. At Silken Aesthetics, we offer both PCA Skin® Peels and the Perfect Derma Peel, allowing us to customize your treatment based on your skin goals, concerns, and desired downtime.

Most clients notice light peeling or flaking for about a week, along with some redness or dryness. With the right home care (which we guide you through), your skin heals beautifully and feels fresh, smooth, and renewed.

For your safety and best results, chemical peels are only available to clients who have had at least one facial with us first.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Chemical peels are a great fit for clients dealing with acne, active breakouts, post-acne dark spots, melasma, hyperpigmentation, sun damage, fine lines, uneven skin texture, or dull congested skin. They are not recommended for clients who are pregnant or nursing, currently using Accutane, or have active skin infections or open lesions in the treatment area. At Silken Aesthetics, a facial is required before your first peel — this ensures your skin is healthy, properly assessed, and ready to respond well to treatment.

  • Many clients see visibly brighter and smoother skin after just one peel. For deeper concerns — melasma, acne scarring, or significant sun damage — a series of 2–3 peels spaced 4–6 weeks apart produces the most significant and lasting results. Mollie will give you a realistic timeline at your consultation based on your specific concerns.

  • Avoid retinoids, tretinoin, AHAs, and BHAs for 7 days before your appointment. Avoid exfoliating products for 7 days prior. Do not come with an active sunburn. Arrive with a clean face — no makeup, SPF, or heavy moisturizer. Let Mollie know about all medications and skincare products you are currently using. Do not wax or do any aggressive facial treatments in the week before your peel.

  • The Perfect Derma Peel is our recommended treatment for melasma. It is one of the only medical-grade peels safe for all skin tones and specifically formulated to target deep pigmentation including melasma and sun damage. A series of 2–3 treatments produces the best results. Mollie pairs the peel with a targeted home care routine to maintain and extend the correction between sessions.

  • We require at least one facial with Mollie before performing any chemical peel. This gives her the chance to assess your skin in person, check for contraindications, evaluate your current skincare routine, and ensure your skin is properly prepped for the peel you're receiving. Peeling compromised, unprepared, or improperly evaluated skin increases the risk of irritation and reduces results. The facial consultation protects your skin and your investment.

  • At Silken Aesthetics, PCA Skin Peels are $100–$150 per session and can also be added as an enhancement to any custom facial for $100. The Perfect Derma Peel — our most powerful treatment for melasma, stubborn hyperpigmentation, and acne scarring — is $275 per session. A facial consultation is required before your first peel. Book your facial to get started.

  • Yes — chemical peels are one of the most effective treatments for early-to-moderate signs of aging. They accelerate cell turnover, stimulate collagen production, and remove the buildup of dead skin that makes fine lines and dullness more visible. The Ultra Peel is specifically designed for fine lines, sun damage, and uneven skin tone. For deeper anti-aging correction, the Perfect Derma Peel delivers more significant collagen stimulation and skin renewal. Our estheticians often combine a peel series with microneedling for clients who want to address both surface and structural aging at the same time.

  • es — and it's one of the most effective ways to accelerate results. The most common combinations are a chemical peel added as an enhancement to a custom facial ($100), which deepens the corrective work in a single session, and a peel series paired with SkinPen Microneedling for clients addressing acne scarring, hyperpigmentation, or significant skin texture concerns. Our estheticians build combined treatment plans that sequence each modality appropriately — so you get maximum results without compromising your skin's healing process between sessions.

  • A chemical peel uses professionally formulated acids to dissolve the top layers of dead and damaged skin, triggering controlled exfoliation and skin cell turnover. As the old skin sheds, the fresh skin underneath is smoother, clearer, and more evenly toned. Depending on the strength of the peel, results range from a subtle brightening and glow to significant correction of acne scars, dark spots, melasma, fine lines, and sun damage. At Silken Aesthetics in Orlando, your specialist selects the right peel for your skin at your consultation — not a one-size-fits-all formula.

  • It depends on the peel. Lighter PCA Skin peels like the Sensi or Acne Peel typically produce mild flaking or dryness for 2–4 days — most clients can go about their normal routine with minimal disruption. The Ultra Peel produces visible peeling for 3–5 days. The Perfect Derma Peel is our deepest treatment and involves visible peeling for 5–7 days as the skin fully sheds and renews. With the right aftercare protocol — which your esthetician walks you through before you leave — skin heals cleanly and the results are worth every day of downtime..

  • Yes — chemical peels are highly effective for both active acne and acne scarring. The Acne Peel targets active breakouts, clogged pores, and post-acne dark spots. The Perfect Derma Peel goes deeper and is ideal for clients with acne scarring, deeper congestion, or pigmentation left behind from previous breakouts. Most clients see a visible improvement after their first treatment, with the best results after a series.

  • For stubborn dark spots and hyperpigmentation — including melasma — the Perfect Derma Peel is our strongest and most effective option. It contains glutathione, a powerful brightening agent, and reaches deeper than surface-level peels to correct pigmentation that hasn't responded to lighter treatments. For mild post-acne dark spots, the Acne Peel is a great starting point. Mollie will recommend the right peel at your facial consultation.

  • Yes — the Perfect Derma Peel is specifically formulated to be safe for all skin tones, including olive and deeper complexions. Lighter peels like the Sensi and Acne Peel are also generally safe across skin tones. Mollie assesses your skin at your facial consultation and selects the peel that is safest and most effective for your specific skin type and tone.

  • The PCA Skin Peels — Sensi, Acne, and Ultra — are professional-grade peels that address surface to mid-level skin concerns. They are great for maintenance, active acne management, early signs of aging, and clients who want effective results with minimal downtime. The Perfect Derma Peel is a medical-grade peel in a different category. It penetrates deeper, contains glutathione for brightening, and is specifically formulated for stubborn pigmentation, melasma, acne scarring, and deeper congestion that lighter peels can't fully reach. It also involves more visible peeling — 5–7 days — and delivers more transformational results. Your esthetician will recommend which is right for your skin at your consultation.
